Ingredients

  • vitamin B6
  • L-tyrosine
  • L-theanine
  • oat straw extract
  • phosphatidylserine
  • cat’s claw bark extract
  • alpha GPC
  • bacopa extract
  • L-leucine
  • vinpocetine
  • pterostilbene

Vitamin B6 assists amino acids like L-leucine, L-tyrosine, and L-theanine to metabolize into your system. L-theanine is an amino acid found in green tea which helps relax you, which is the same effect that oat straw extract contains. Cat’s claw bark and bacopa are both antioxidants that help promote brain function. Alpha-GPC has shown to reduce symptoms of Alzheimer’s and other brain diseases such as dementia. Most of these ingredients do seem extremely effective, but there are also com ingredients listed here that we could not find a use for. For example, there were tests using vinpocetine have shown that it improved memory in older adults, but another test proved these results inconclusive.

Instructions & Dose

Take two capsules a day, preferably with food. The dose amount seems normal as with most herbal supplements, the daily value of vitamin B is maximized - there is 500% of vitamin B6 in this supplement. This doesn’t mean that you can overdose on it; it just gets extracted through your system and won’t work. There are no daily values set for herbal supplements, but comparing the ingredient amounts with other brain supplements, there are a lot less amino acids such as L-tyrosine and L-theanine than other supplements. The amino acids are more likely to work better the higher the dose is.

Price & Guarantee

One bottle which contains 30 capsules costs $34.95. This is the smallest bottle available. The next size contains 90 capsules for $79.95. There is also a bulk discount for a month’s worth of pills worth $59.88. If you wish to subscribe and receive a bottle monthly, you can get a 15% discount on the price of your purchase. Although a bulk discount is nice, this product is on the higher end of supplements.

The guarantee was unique and quite confusing; it is valid for first-time purchases only and allows a customer 90 days to ask for a full refund for a product. There are no returns or shipping necessary - Onnit will refund the money, no questions asked. Although this may seem quite comfortable, it is strange to us that Onnit doesn’t require a return of a bottle for a refund.

Summary Of Our Onnit Alpha Brain Review

Alpha Brain is a supplement that was created to improve learning and memory with its impressive list of 11 ingredients. Although we were not familiar with all the ingredients, they were categorized and outlined on the label to show how they will help the brain, from focusing or for getting sufficient energy to function properly. The 90-day guarantee is definitely unique, especially that it doesn’t require a customer to return any products. However, the lack of important ingredients such as most of the B vitamins (1, 2, 3, 6) and herbs like brahmi and St John’s wort show that this is an insufficient product; not to mention its high cost. There are definitely better quality supplements that are cheaper in price available.
